Decades of armed conflict in Iraq have left deep scars, none more painful than the loss of fathers, husbands, and sons who once provided for their families. Today, hundreds of thousands of widows are left carrying the burden of survival alone, often without the skills, education, or opportunities to earn a sustainable income.

With little to no access to state support, these women face unimaginable hardships. Many are left to care for their children without the means to provide food, education, or even safe shelter. The need far outweighs the support currently available from humanitarian organisations.

That’s why the Help the Needy Widows Support Programme is more vital than ever.Currently, we provide critical cash assistance to widows in Mosul, Anbar, Baghdad, and Erbil. This support enables them to meet essential daily needs while restoring a sense of stability and dignity. But thousands more are still waiting.
