Water is Life
Iraq is facing its worst water crisis in a century, seven million people are suffering from reduced access to clean water. The situation is especially dire for the country’s most vulnerable: internally displaced families who have been living for years in temporary camps and informal settlements. By 2035, the country is projected to meet only 15% of its water demand. For families living outside the national water grid, the consequences are life-threatening.
That’s why Help the Needy has made clean water a central pillar of its humanitarian work.
Through our Water Treatment Plant Programme, we deliver safe drinking water to communities in critical need, especially those in displacement camps, shantytowns, disaster-hit zones, and high-risk areas. These projects provide clean, treated water for cooking, drinking, and personal hygiene, reducing the spread of waterborne diseases and improving daily life for thousands.
Each intervention is tailored to local needs and conditions, whether it’s installing treatment plants, distributing water tanks, or delivering water via mobile units.
With your support, we can continue to bring this essential resource to families who need it most.
